Our Insurance Proposals and Coverage Information

The insurance coverage we offer primarily includes the following specifics:

  • Medical expenses
  • Theft or damage to luggage
  • Rescue and repatriation
  • Legal assistance
  • Trip cancellation prior to departure

For each destination and activity we offer, there are optional extensions and supplements available. However, if you already have personal insurance coverage, it will not be mandatory.

There are also several online options from insurance companies, and we can provide you with our best advice.

Unipol - Base Policy

Extract of the insurance conditions for the "Viaggi Protetto" policy underwritten by VERTICALIFE in collaboration with UnipolSai Assicurazioni S.p.A. The policy offers a range of guarantees and services to protect the insured during their travels.

    • Key terms:
      • Insured: The individual protected by the insurance.
      • Policyholder: The person or entity purchasing the insurance.
      • Claim: An event that triggers a request for assistance or coverage.
      • General Information:
        • The document is governed by Italian law.
        • If other insurance policies cover the same risk, the insured must declare it.
        • The company is not liable for damages caused by foreign authorities.
        • Insurance coverage cannot be duplicated to increase limits or duration.
        • For residents abroad, "Italy" is replaced with their country of residence.
      • Exclusions: The policy does not cover claims caused by:
        • Intentional misconduct or gross negligence of the insured.
        • War, natural disasters, terrorism.
        • Hazardous activities such as extreme mountaineering or aerial sports.
        • Alcohol, drug, or psychoactive substance abuse.
        • Pre-existing medical conditions.
        • Travel against medical advice.
        • Loss of money, securities, or valuables.
        • Damage to luggage not caused by theft or the carrier.
      • Travel Assistance Section - Services provided in case of difficulties during the trip:
        • Medical consultation: Telephone medical advice and referral to specialists.
        • Medical transportation: Transport to the nearest medical facility or return to Italy.
        • Early return: In case of the death of a family member.
        • Legal assistance: Referral to a lawyer and advance payment of bail.
        • Reimbursement of expenses: For independently organized transport due to force majeure.
        • Exclusions: Services are not provided if the Organizational Structure's instructions are not followed.
      • Medical Expenses Section: Reimbursement of medical expenses incurred on-site:
        • Maximum coverage: €1,000.
        • Prior authorization: Required for expenses exceeding €1,000.
        • Deductible: Not applied to services, except in specific cases.
        • Reimbursement procedure: Documents must be submitted within 15 days of return.
      • Luggage Section: Reimbursement for loss or damage to luggage:
        • Coverage: Theft, robbery, mugging, fire, and damage caused by the carrier.
        • Limits: Commercial value; excludes valuables left unattended.
        • Essential expenses: Reimbursement for purchases due to delayed delivery.
        • Deductible: Applied to reimbursements.
        • Reimbursement procedure: Documents must be submitted within 15 days of return.
      • In case assistance is needed, the insured must:
        • Contact the Organizational Structure by phone at the Turin number: +39 0116523211.
        • Provide personal details, tax code, and the identification data of the Viaggi Protetto card.
        • Communicate their location and a contact number.
AXA Policy - Trip Cancellation

C.1 Object of Insurance
The Company indemnifies the Insured, their family members, and one travel companion, registered for the same trip and insured under this policy, for the amounts paid (excluding individual booking costs and the individual insurance fee) and non-refundable amounts withheld by the trip organizer, according to the Terms of Participation in compliance with regional laws, if the trip must be canceled due to the following circumstances, provided they are documented, involuntary, and unforeseen at the time of booking:

    • a) Illness, injury, or death of the Insured or a family member;
      • b) Inability to reach the trip departure point due to:
        • Accident involving the means of transport during the journey;
        • Natural disaster;
      • c) Pandemic affecting the Insured, a family member (as defined in the glossary), or a travel companion (as defined in the glossary);
      • d) Quarantine requiring isolation of the Insured or a travel companion (as defined in the glossary).

The Company reimburses the penalty charged to:

      • The Insured;
      • And, provided they are insured and registered in the same booking:
        • All family members;
        • One travel companion.

Maximum Coverage: €15,000 per insured person.

The Company provides reimbursement:

      • a) Without applying a deductible in case of trip cancellation due to the death of the Insured or hospitalization for more than 5 days;
      • b) For all other causes with a 15% deductible, subject to a minimum of €50.

In the event of illness or injury, the Company's medical team may conduct an examination to confirm that the Insured's condition prevents participation in the trip.

C.2 Commencement, Expiry, and Operability

The coverage starts from the trip's booking/purchase date and is effective until the utilization of the first contractual service of the trip.

C.3 Exclusions (In addition to Common Exclusions)

The Company does not reimburse cancellations caused by:

      • a) Pre-existing and progressive illnesses or complications thereof, or if conditions/events likely to cause a claim existed at the time of booking;
      • b) Depressive disorders;
      • c) Pregnancy;
      • d) Pregnancy-related conditions if the pregnancy began before the booking date;
      • e) Bankruptcy of the carrier or travel agency.

C.4 Settlement Criteria

The Company reimburses the cancellation penalty:

      • a) At the rate applicable on the date of the event. If the Insured cancels the trip after the event, any higher penalty remains their responsibility (Art. 1914 Civil Code).
      • b) Reserving the right to reduce the indemnity by the amount recovered by the Insured. The Company has the right to take possession of unused travel documents.

C.5 Validity

The coverage is valid only if subscribed on the same date as the trip's booking/purchase.

Procedure for Filing a Claim (Trip Cancellation) Reporting Method:

      • The claim and related documentation can be submitted via the website www.tripy.net or by mail to the address indicated in the policy document.

Required Documents for Trip Cancellation Reimbursement:

      • Documentation proving the reason for cancellation (e.g., medical certificate, emergency room report).
      • Proof of the relationship between the Insured and the individual causing the trip cancellation.
      • Travel catalog or program, including penalty rules.
      • Travel contract and payment receipts.
      • Booking and penalty statement issued by the tour operator.
      • Original travel documents (if the penalty is 100%).
