Torino Night Trail – Light Up the Trail with Your Energy

A Nighttime Trail Running Race Through the Hills

Trail running is a form of running that takes place on natural paths (hills, forests, plains, mountains, or deserts).

Always seeking new ways to reinvent our hometown of Turin, Verticalife launched the Torino Night Trail during the 6th edition of Torino Street Style on September 19–20, 2015. This race promotes and celebrates outdoor sports, spotlighting the connection between sustainable change, ethical downshifting, and a city designed for both people and the environment.

The TNT (Torino Night Trail) is a spontaneous gesture by a generation of athletes, runners, and outdoor enthusiasts in search of oxygen... right in the city!

Why Torino Night Trail Is More Than a Race

▲ 6 km entirely uphill

▲ Run at night, after sunset

▲ Over 600 meters of elevation gain

▲ Open to all levels

6 km might not seem long, and 600 meters of elevation gain might not sound much... but at night, it's a whole new challenge!

The Course

Starting at 8:30 PM under the cover of darkness, the race kicks off at the entrance of Parco Leopardi. The N.16 trail serves as your guide, lit only by your headlamp (mandatory for participation). The mesmerizing combination of moonlight and the city’s glowing lights leads you straight to the summit of Colle della Maddalena (715 m a.s.l.), where the Victory Lighthouse marks the finish line.

Details of the route:

  • The journey begins on the N.16 trail at Parco Leopardi, with sharp switchbacks leading to a steep uphill section.
  • The trail cuts through Parco di San Vito, offering breathtaking views of the city below—don’t forget to look back now and then!
  • It continues along Strada delle Vigne di San Vito before a left turn leads to a stair-filled path with tight switchbacks.
  • This section transitions into Strada Vicinale dei Boschi, skirting Villa Lauger’s perimeter. Eventually, the forest opens into a flat clearing known historically as Gola dell'Inferno (Hell’s Throat).
  • After reaching Quadrivio Raby, the trail pushes toward the final stretch, entering Parco della Rimembranza via Strada Comunale da San Vito a Revigliasco.

The final climb—steep and straight (well, almost)—leads to Colle della Maddalena, where the Victory Lighthouse and breathtaking nighttime views of Turin await.

After the Race

Shuttle buses will be available to bring athletes back to Piazza Castello, where the evening wraps up with a pasta party and final award ceremonies.
